Restoration in tight spaces
Terraqua ES supply a full range of supports, posts, mesh and fencing for a number of bioengineering and semi-hard revetments for the water’s edge. Raw materials are supplied from certified FSC sources.
Our post & mesh revetment system offers a cross over from a soft to a semi-hard engineered system. It provides room to install in limited spaces, a secure foundation at the water’s edge to combat flooding events, it’s economical and offers an opportunity for aquatic habitat (crayfish).
The system consists of a 4mm thick galvanised (50x50mm) mesh panel, 2 metres long x 1.0m – 1.2m high and 100mmØ x 2.4m softwood / chestnut fencing posts. The posts are driven in at 600mm to 1m intervals. The mesh panel is then fastened to the back of the posts and a top rail is added. A standard woven geotextile is used at the rear of the system which prevents fines from washing out. Gabion stone 1m wide is then placed as infill to the back of the revetment. 1 metre return ends are used at each end of the system. A back post can be used to further stabilise the system. Vegetation can be established right up-to the top edge of the system.
We offer a full design, specification and installation service. A full supply and install package is available if required.
