Terraqua ES in association with CETCO supply a full range of Geosynthetic Clay Liners (GCL)
Bentomat GCLs are high performance environmental liners comprised of a layer of low-permeability sodium Bentonite encapsulated between geosynthetic carrier layers.
GCLs provide hydraulic performance equivalent to one metre of compacted clay. With a total thickness of less than 10mm, GCLs are self-sealing if punctured. Manufactured in large rolls that require just a simple overlapped seam. Fast and easy to install, as well as being highly cost effective, GCLs provide a superior choice for both designers and contractors.
Surface Water Impoundments
GCLs are widely used in decorative lakes, balancing ponds, wetlands, reed beds, industrial and aeration lagoons. These products are also used in canal lining, river and stream diversions. Because they do not require specialised welding equipment or labour, GCLs can be installed with minimal instruction and supervision.
Used in place of compacted clay or geomembranes, applications and features include;
|Lakes and ponds||Lagoons, canals|
|Flood alleviation & Irrigation schemes||Wetlands and reedbeds|
|Natural lining material||Fast and easy to install – cost effective|
|Self-sealing if punctured||No welding required|
|Good slope stability characteristics|
