Bogbean – Menyanthes trifoliata – flowering today at our Surrey nursery.
Bog bean produces tough, shiny leaves and grows low to the ground in pond margins and boggy areas. It is a creeping perennial that blooms from March to June.
The leaves are a food source for the attractive Elephant Hawk-moth caterpillar.
